Acharya Prahlad
Acharya Prahlad is a very humble teacher and a serious seeker. He has been practicing yoga and living a yogic life from his childhood. He lives minimalist and a true ascetic life.
He was born in village near to Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. His father was a gandhian, tradional Ayurved practitioner and a social worker. He was inspired by his father at young age.
From early childhood onwards Acharya Prahlad loved to spend most of his time in ashrams and spiritual places. Often he used to leave home and spend in ashrams for days. Worldly and material life didn’t interest him much.
Slowly his spiritual impulse went so strong that at age of 13 he left his parents, home and went to Himalayas. Rest of his young age he spent mostly in Haridwar, Rishikesh, Gangotri and surrounding Himalayan region. Later there he met with a Mouni Baba (Silent Holyman), moved into his ashram and began to study yoga directly under his guidance. Further he enhanced his knowledge under the guidance of renowned teachers in different ashrams in Rishikesh , including Kailash Ashram, Sivananda Ashram and Paramarta Niketan for the next 6 years.
From 1999 to 2004 he became part of the world renowned Himalayan ashram Shanti Kunj, Haridwar, where he engaged in volunteering as a yoga teacher and administrative roles.
From 2004 he moved to a ashram in Sharavasti in UtterPradesh continuing his spiritual sadhana (practice), Yoga therapy and naturopathy.
2 years, from 2006 to 2008 he was on a strict Jal Upvas or water fast.
Later to learn systematically the scientific aspect of yoga and yogic science. He Continued his yoga studies at SVYASA, Bangalore & Kayavalyadham, Maharashtra. Further for 3 years he continued as teacher and spiritual guide at Kayvalyadham.
In International Yoga Festival -2014, Rishikesh, Acharya Prahlad presented his research on “Yoga Therapy for Back Pain” and facilitated a series of master classes.
Soon after the festival, he decided to go on a deeper meditation and lived in a cave in the woods Karoli (Rajasthan) and meditated for six months.
Upon returning from the forest, he continued his studies at Ashtanga Vinyasa and to give classes and workshops in Mysore and prestigious yoga centers across India.
In 2016 Acharya Prahlad was invited to Russia where he conducted a series of Yoga classes as well as lectures & workshops on Spirituality, Meditation and Yoga.
From 2016 onwards Acharya Prahlad has made his base in Mysore. He teaches Pranayama, Meditation and guide other serious seekers to live a healthy yogic life style.
Knowledge Journey
Along with his spiritual quest & life journey, he recognized the need to continue his academic education and managed to complete his graduation followed by a MA in philosophy and psychology.
Even though learning and practicing yoga, meditation and natural therapies from childhood, he wanted to learn systematically the scientific aspect of yoga and yogic science. He furthermore studied Yoga & Naturopathy at world renowned institutes in India.
He also received the teacher’s certificate and honoured as Yoga Shiromani, the highest level in the legendary teacher Sivananda Ashram.

Sanskrit Meaning
Pra – means Super , hlad – means delight or refresh also a complete blissfull or Ananda state
Yog – means Yoga or every practice related with yoga . Yog or Yoga is “Yuj” or Union – Union with Supreme Devine. Yog is understood to be the union of body, mind and Soul. Connecting with self or our higher self.
